“Leading in Complexity” CLA Workshop with Virginia Klamon & Akasha on April 25, 2022

CLA presented our 7th workshop for our 2021-2023 cohorts on Monday, April 25, 2022, on the theme of “Leading in Complexity.”

The goal of this workshop was for CLA participants to consider the demands on them as leaders in an increasingly complex and uncertain world, as well as explore ways to navigate and ultimately thrive.

Akasha, coach and facilitator for Cultivating Leadership, and Virginia Klamon, spiritual director and developmental leadership coach, were our presenters for the evening.

About Our Presenters

Akasha, PhD, PCC is a pilgrim, educator, and developmental coach. He teaches developmental psychology and gender inequality at St. George’s University in Grenada. He holds a Ph.D. in Human Development from Fielding Graduate University and is credentialed through the International Coach Federation as a Professional Certified Coach.

Nothing brings Akasha more joy than cultivating spaces for liberatory-growth. He works with Cultivating Leadership as a coach, facilitator, and the firm’s Gardener of Belonging. He is known for his success designing and facilitating interventions that support vertical development and intercultural competence.

He spends most of his time between Grenada and Bermuda with his partner, their son, and a very protective cockapoo dog.

Virginia Klamon, PhD, PCC has devoted her career to supporting individuals in expressing their natural impulse to grow and evolve. With deep curiosity and reverence, she works in the dynamic and often mysterious territory of change. After years leading large-scale organizational change initiatives and coaching in secular contexts, her love of the sacred and desire for greater wholeness and meaning led her to post-doctoral studies in human development and consciousness, trauma healing, and spirituality. Virginia currently works at the intersection of leadership and spirituality. She is a developmental leadership coach and a spiritual director.

Virginia holds a PhD in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University with advanced training and certifications. After living in several US and European cities, she is grateful to be surrounded by the beauty of the Pacific NW where she continuously reshapes her understanding of the world, her role as a global citizen, her awareness of privilege, and her vocation. She is part inner monastic though also often out in the world adventuring to new places, playing in nature with her husband and friends, or looking to share a communal dining table.
