Dr. Pizzigoni discusses how to lean into emotionally-healthy spiritual practices and how to discern when to cross the road into counseling when coping with struggles through spirituality is not enough. Additional topics include mental health stigma, research outcomes in the psychology of religion and spirituality, and the function of emotions.

Dayna Pizzigoni, PhD, LPC is a psychotherapist in private practice; a counselor educator, and a consultant. Dr. Pizzigoni received her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision with a speciality in religious and spiritual integration from Loyola University Maryland. Dr. Pizzigoni enjoys understanding and supporting clients in navigating how their religion and/or spirituality influence their lives and psychological functioning. Dr. Pizzigoni also walks beside clients in search of and the creation of purposeful connection with God, the Universe, the Ultimate, Nature, or a Higher Power in a way that is in line with their mental health needs.
