Creative Expression: Praying Through Art

Jesuit Connections welcomed Becky McIntyre for "Creative Expression: Praying Through Art" on October 18, 2022.

About This Event:

Art is a creative channel for storytelling and expression, stretching us to encounter ourselves, one another and God in new ways. Community artist, Becky McIntyre, will guide us this evening in experiencing prayer and connection through art.

We will include a short individual reflection. Any and all art materials you have on hand may be used – even a pencil. Remember, everyone is an artist. No experience required!

Becky McIntyre, (she/her) is a traveling visual artist currently living in Philadelphia  and inspired by nature and community. She finds that the creative process is spiritual and connective – it allows her to reflect through her interior self and experiences, to express what’s going on in the outside world, and to meet and build community with others. She seeks to use her art to bring awareness to sociopolitical issues of justice and to activate and inspire new ways of being.  A graduate of St. Joseph's University and a former Los Angeles Catholic Worker, Becky is currently working as an Intensive Prevention Services counselor for youth as well as Chief of Operations and a muralist for the community non-profit Walls for Justice.
